How pre-cooling works
Store the cool
Walls, floors and furniture soak up cool air before the peak, then release it slowly.
Drift, don't switch off
Raise the setting a few degrees during the peak; turning the system off completely can mean a long, hard catch-up later.
Leaky homes gain less
If the house warms up fast, fix sealing, shading or ducts first — the schedule works better afterwards.

Most smart thermostats can hold a schedule like this every weekday.
